I'm Beatriz Sousa!
I was born and raised in Nordeste de Amaralina, in Salvador, Bahia. I'm the daughter of a manicurist and an electrician, I have a step-sister and I'm the mother of two beautiful kittens.
From a very early age, I was interested in getting involved in order to transform my reality. I was a class leader at school, president of the student union and I've always been a questioner.
I began my journey into activism at the age of 13 when I started a communications course at Odara - Black Women's Institute. From then on I never stopped moving!
I've taken part in meetings both inside and outside the country, I've been to Chile and Argentina, I took part in an International Forum of Black Feminisms in Barbados, I've had the opportunity to talk to young black people from different backgrounds and understand my commitment to autonomy, social justice and the well-being of the black population.
When I look at my path, I am sure that ancestry has guided and strengthened me to discover and unveil a new world. The possibilities are endless and I seek discernment every day to embrace them.
